Bright Track Account Registration

California Department of Social Services (CDSS) Bright Track accounts are only to be established by key staff at institutions that have an agreement with the CDSS to operate the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP). Per the CDSS CACFP Bulletin 2023–02, Training Requirements in the CACFP, key staff are defined as the institution’s authorized representative, program contact, or their designee(s). The authorized representative is responsible for the full oversight of the CACFP and the program contact manages the day-to-day CACFP operations. Designees include employees at an independent center or sponsoring organization with CACFP duties (e.g., menu planners, monitors, fiscal staff).

Family child care home providers, staff at sponsored centers, vendors, and others who do not meet the definition of ‘key staff’ should contact their sponsoring organization (if applicable) for training options and/or visit the CDSS CACFP Training web page for information on free and low-cost training opportunities.

* Sponsoring organization – Responsible for the administration of the CACFP on behalf of one or more facilities. Facilities are defined as sponsored family day care homes and centers (including child care centers, adult day care centers, emergency shelters, and at-risk afterschool care programs.)
